Combination of PTR-MS and ENose reveals the chemical signature of malaria gametocytes

A research collaboration between Sensors Group, Fondazione E. Mach and the Instituto Superiore di Sanità shows the chemical signature of plasmodium falciparum gametocytes. The results has been obtained with an original combination of the electronic nose developed by the Sensors Group and the Proton Transfer Reaction – Mass Spectrometer.
